NCHPBA developed a separate not-for-profit organization to manage all industry and public education endeavors. The name of that association is Combustion Appliance Training & Education, Inc. (CATE). It received full IRS tax exempt status in 2015.
CATE works closely with members of the NCHPBA Annual Meeting & Exhibits Committee to coordinate the annual meeting and conference each May. It will also be working on obtaining grants for various education and training projects as well as public and related industry education programs.

The Annual Meeting & Exhibits Committee works in conjunction with the members of the CATE Board of Directors to form a Joint Planning Committee. The Chairman is Alison Van Lanen. Members include: Dan Green, Russ Dimmitt, Lynn Meyer, Rodger Holland, Chris Becker and Paul Nigon. .
