It is posted on the CATE website and here, too. There is a separate registration form this year so be sure to download both documents. Events

Yes, NCHPBA is still planning an onsite Annual Meeting & Education Conference for May 23-25 at Glacier Canyon Lodge in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. We hope the pandemic will be under control by then. If not, we will do something virtually so you will get education and some networking via Zoom with your colleagues.

HPBExpo has moved to June 24-26 in Louisville, KY. This move is with the same hope that we have…pandemic under control. HPBA will be sending more information out on this soon. HPBEF will be planning their education sessions to start on the 23rd. Save the dates and plan to come to both events. It is time we get together again!

Board Activities

The NCHPBA Board has been very busy this year working on various government issues and plans to hopefully resume a semblance of normal onsite functions in 2021. They will be meeting again in November to detail more activities on obtaining a Hearth Specialty License in Wisconsin. The goal is to eventually have such a license in each state so we are identified as an independent specialty. This will also protect our industry from other entities trying to install our products. The goal is the safest and best installation so everyone can thoroughly enjoy our products.

Action Plans

The Board of Directors approved Committee plans during their June 16 meeting. There will be some major government efforts this year that include licensing, fuel choice, building official training, Changeouts and State Capitol Hill Days. More details will be provided about each topic in our regular E-News publications. If you have any interest in these projects, please contact the office or either Chairman, BJ Marcell at Marcell’s Specialties or Joe Holland with Holland & Hearth. Their contact information is on the “About Us” page.

Forging Ahead

While a new normal emerges, NCHPBA will try to keep you informed with various topics and information you need to continue to operate. We do not plan to duplicate the excellent information that HPBA has on the COVID-19 impact that you can obtain from just going to the hpba.org website. We started providing information on each state but later determined there was so much being provided by each state and from various municipalities within each state, we could not keep up to the everchanging conditions. We started having Coffee Breaks, video conferences on topics to help with networking. We plan to continue these on some basis. We will always notify you of upcoming programs.

We had a virtual Annual Meeting on May 18 with over 25 companies participating. Hope Stevenson then provided information on how to get going again using a sports analogy of car racing. Even if you are not a sports geek, this concept works. Stay tuned as the new normal takes form.

"…all for you!"
